Frank and I have started taking turns picking up the children from their rooms. Initially the translator would go get them and we would wait for them in the play room. When I got to Rachel's room this morning a little boy ran after me, grabbed my leg and started saying "Mama! Mama!". We took a baby back pack to see how it would work out for Todd. He thought it was pretty funny. Of course, he thinks that pretty much everything is funny. We took Rachel a coat and hat too try on. She absolutely LOVES to try on new clothes. Frank has figured out a sure way to get her on his lap.......clothes. I think we will start taking an outfit each day just because she gets such a kick out of it. Morgan, I couldn't help but think how much fun we are going to have with her at the mall!
Sorry no new pictures. The batteries on the camera died unexpectedly and we were not carrying back-ups. We had a nice day. There is everything you need here at the Skiff- even church services. I heard that the congregation has really grown over time. Everyone in attendance was or will hopefully soon be an adoptive parent. An especially touching prayer was led at the end by a soon to be adoptive father of 2 girls- they will take custody in 12 days. They have been visiting their daughters for over 6 months and have been through too much and have made so many sacrifices to become parents. Today there were about 10 ipeople in attendance. Feels like a pretty full house when you are in a hotel room. Big day tomorrow. Court day for our travel partners Steve and Coreen Hayes. Best Wishes to you and Mary Margaret! We will post pictures of our celebreation tomorrow night. Frank and I will bring the cake. One week to court for us (for those of you wondering). Then a 15 day waiting period then we take custody and spend a week in Almaty finalizing things to get the children out of the country. The minute they step foot onto US soil they will be citizens. We look forward to that moment.
