I'm sad and not so sad to say that today is my last full day in Petropavlovsk. I will miss Shannon and the kids (obviously), but I will not really miss the town or the weather. The kids were great today. I fed Rachel Ramen Noodles for the first time and she is anomored by them. I guess it's the little things in life that mean the most as they cost 15 tenge (about 10 cents) per package. Todd is doing very well too. I was very emotional when I arrived for our afternoon visit, however, was consumed only by joy when Rachel greeted me with a big hug and kiss when I picked her up at her room. We were able to see the kids beds yesterday.
The picture just above is in Rachel's dining room. That's where we hug and kiss her goodbye after every visit. From here on out, I will have to check the website everyday to see my children (except for Morgan of course) until they return home on December 9th. Although the trip is long and arduous, it is definately worth it. Shannon and I have been given two beautiful gifts from Kazakhstan. I look forward to seeing all of you soon and touching down on US soil in a couple of days.
