Day 24
HAPPY BIRTHDAY FRANK!
November 20th, 2004
Today's post is dedicated to the new Daddy. The best part of this journey has been watching him fall in love with his children. Frank, sorry I can not be with you today but I know that Morgan will take good care of you. I had Elsa help me translate and tell Rachel that today it is Daddy's Birthday so we need to take a special picture to send to him. She seemed to think that was a good idea. Hope you have a great day! Call me tonight!
Tonight I started by taking Frank's Birthday picture. It was a challenge to get the banner taped up and then keep the kids from ripping it down before the picture. I am seriously out numbered but I make up for it in determination. I took Rachel a new outfit tonight (it's honestly been a few days since I bought her something). I also took her some hair clips. I was trying to tell her to pick which one she liked the best but she couldn't understand what I was saying (or maybe she could) and insisted on wearing them all.
Earlier this afternoon I took about a two hour walk with friends. Every Saturday there is a market. I was hoping for some local crafts but much to my disappointment pretty much the only thing for sale was meat. Lots and lots of raw meat......every kind that
you can imagine. After that we just shopped. I found a really cool picture book about Petropavlovsk that I bought for the kids. Also the hair clips and outfit that Rachel is wearing above. Pictured above is a historic/traditional Kazak home.  That's all for today.
