Our last day in Kazakhstan
December 8th, 2004

My last post from Kazakhstan is dedicated to my late brother Todd Michael Bell. Today he would have celebrated his 25th birthday. He would have loved these children just as he loved Morgan and I hope that he would find it to be an honor that Frank and I decided to call our son by his name.

A special thanks to all of my friends and family who have shared in the joy of our adoption. We have been overwelmed by all of the acts of kindness, emails etc. I will follow- up with a post when we arrive home and from there will probably post updated pictures on a monthly basis for our family.

As for today, we spent the day in the apartment. Our driver will pick us up in about 4 hours which is 1AM here. Our flight departs at 4AM. We are packed and the children are sleeping. Todd is slowly improving. He was dancing and smiling tonight before bed. Rachel is REALLY excited to see her new house. She keeps talking about "Albina's Doma" (Doma =house in Russian). Before we left for dinner she was rambling something about Albina's Doma and machina (car)  and was trying to put on her boots. I assume she was saying let's get in the car and go to Albina's new house. We went back to Mad Murphy's for our last dinner. The kids love going out to eat.
