Home at last!
December 11th, 2004

Well, we finally made it. This trip was long and hard but it was nearly forgotten when I  was finally able to hug and kiss Morgan and Frank and see my 3 children together for the first time.

The trip was long for all of us. My body is still sore from rocking a 24lb screaming boy for 20 some hours. It's a good thing that he is so cute. Dad and I slept approximately 2 hours in a 40 hour period. The kids and I are still recovering from the time change and jet lag, but we are having fun. Rachel talked the whole flight about her new house. She is such a happy little girl. I have witnessed an amazing transformation in the past 7 weeks. We realize now that the little girl who had a reputation at the babyhouse for having "strong character" just needed what every child needs...........a family. She is truly a delight. As for Todd, the easy going and happy baby we knew at the babyhouse isn't quite so happy at the moment. He is slowly coming around but is definately having a tougher time with the adjustment. As for Morgan, she is so happy to have her Mom home as well as her new brother and sister. She is having so much fun with them.

As for me a feel like I have been shot with a tranquilizer gun. I am happier and  more relaxed than I have been in months. I really have no worries and am just grateful to have my family together. Dad and I were talking and came to the conclusion that I wouldn't trade this experience for a million dollars and you couldn't pay me a million dollars to go through it again. Experiencing adoption has truly been a blessing to our family. I never dreamed that I would build my family this way but am so thankful that it worked out this way. In the last year, through networking, I have come in to contact with so many adoptive families and it is truly amazing how it seems that the children that are suppose to be yours always have a way of finding you.
